Evergenes is a place where you can upload your photos, video clips, audio and text into easy to use and organised scrapbooks. These will be stored forever on the World Wide Web, so that in the future, people will be able to easily access information about their ancestors. For example, where they lived; how they looked; how they spoke; what they thought, even down to what pets they had! It is your choice on the amount of information you wish to upload. This site acts as a ‘time capsule’, as not only can you see how you have changed over your life time, but the following generations will be able to find out what their ancestors were like, and how the world has changed.

Password protected site

Your site is password protected and you can further protect all your content by selecting one of the various privacy settings we have installed, even down to individual pictures.

Organised into sections

We have created 13 different categories, which include, Your profile; Growing up; Education; Career; Interests; Homes; Travels; Technology; Journal; Family; Friends; Pets and Occasions. Once you have entered a category, you can create a scrapbook and start to build your memories. This site has been created to be as simple to use as possible. If you are ever stuck on what to write about, you can refer to the guidance questions for inspiration.

Create unlimited scrapbooks

Within each category you can create as many scrapbooks as you like, and then can start adding photos, videos, text and audio clips to them.

Easy photo uploading

Pictures can be easily uploaded using our powerful image uploader, which you can also rotate your pictures if desired.

Personalise your photos

Add captions to your photos so you know when and where the pictures were taken. You can also name people in the photo by tagging them.

Privacy setting options

Each individual picture can be assigned its own privacy unique privacy setting. You can apply this privacy setting to each item you upload. Choose from ‘Private’, ‘Family only’, ‘Friends only’, both ‘Friends and Family’ or to be shared with the public. You have total control over whom you would like to share your scrapbooks with.

Public release date

Each account has a ‘public release date’ feature. This requires you to set a date in the future for your account to become visible to the public. You may wish now to keep your memories private or share them with your family and friends only. Please keep in mind that the main point of this website, is to one day create a place for people to easily have access to a wealth of information about their ancestors.

So set your public release date appropriately, to a time when you will be happy to share your life’s journey with future users.

Your homepage

When you have logged into your account, you will be reminded of any upcoming events that you have recorded in your calendar; any messages or announcements sent to you by family and friends; be shown thumbnails of the latest photo’s added by your friends and family; whether you have any friend or family requests and the latest news from Evergenes.

Online journal

Write about your days events and keep them totally private or share your thoughts and accounts with your family and friends keeping them up to date with your life.

Forum

A place for users to share their views on topics related to each category.

Historical events

Write accounts on events you have witnessed in your lifetime, which have changed you, and perhaps the world.
Search for member’s individual and personal account of events passed, either by topic or title.
Once a topic has been created, other members, who may also have something to share, can post their story too.
